Just got my NutriMirror Store Order!

Well, today I received my digital scale from the Store and I am nervous to find out the new number I am going to be working from......hopefully it will be down rather than up! I also got a lunch bag which I am so happy with, it's the perfect size and came just in time.... Last but certainly not least, I got my NM T-shirt!! I'm gonna put that baby on now! I highly recommend shopping at the NM Store next time you may need something. Why do I need to know the difference between dry and liquid measurements?

To ensure the best and most accurate results with a recipe, especially in baking, you want to know the weight of an ingredient. The weight (pounds/kilograms) is different than the volume of an item (cups/milliliters). European recipes always have measurements in weight, and more US recipes are starting to show both volume and weight for ingredients.

For example, a cup of flour is measured differently by everyone. Pack the measuring cup tight with flour versus packing it more loosely results in a different measurement. So the most accurate recipes call for a certain weight of flour, say 8 ounces, instead of a cup.

As for liquids, all liquids weigh differently. Oil is heavier than water, so a measuring cup of water is not the same as a cup of oil. The best recipes will give you specific weights for each liquid, thus our conversions to liquid measurement--Fluid ounces/milliliters.
